Gulf Shores Police warn of new white clad Gang overrunning sand dunes.

Gulf Shores, Al-  Police in the Gulf Shores beach area are warning locals and tourists about a new possible gang taking over the local sand dunes as their "turf".  The members of this posse stand out with their all white matching outfits and the constant complaining coming from the male figure of the group. This gang likes to settle near the sea oats and could be dangerous. We don't know much about the group, but the police are calling them the "Sea Oat Mafia" at this time until further investigation.

Some locals are saying the gang has had a summer presence for decades, but we now fear they may be around now wreaking havoc year round if the weather stays warm.  Orange Beach police chief Richard Martenson has unveiled his plan for the OBA community, which uses The Yard milkshakes to lure the gang to nearby cotton fields in hopes to contain them there.

Mobile ranked top major city with least crime rate in Mobile County.

Mobile city officials gathered in ceremony yesterday evening to celebrate their new ranking as "Major City with Least Crime Rate in Mobile County". It was a tough call, but being the only major city with the county helped them surpass others to claim the title. This was a great relief to Mobilians who tire of endlessly reading their hometown placed at the bottom of national rankings. Unfortunately, Mobile also tops list as "Major City with Most Crime in Mobile County", but we're not delving into that one. Some are planning to celebrate the occasion by streaking down Dauphin street.  Others interviewed couldn't comment as they were busy shooting Moon Pies from mid-air as if they were clay pigeons.

Local Driftwood Factory "Home Woods" thought to be cause of Fairhope growth.

Every year thousands of families re-locate to Fairhope from all over the globe. Many wonder where all of these newcomers work with such a small local job market. Some speculate that the world's largest driftwood art factory Home Woods located here might be the root to our rocketing economy.

Since Home Woods opened 5 years ago its workforce has grown 1000%, up to 15,000 employees now. More and more opportunists are moving to join Home Woods now that they offer a free Land Rover as a sign on bonus, on top of a generous salary. So what does Home Woods do exactly? Well, most of the staff is assigned to scrub up and down the eastern shore in search of driftwood, a precious commodity. The other 10% of the staff spend numerous hours hand crafting the wood into simple non-offensive art, which can be displayed in rental condos or within any coastal home.

A scandal nearly took the company out in 2017 as you may remember, when it was leaked by a whistleblower that much of the driftwood was not natural, and was simply sticks thrown into the bay to soak for a few minutes. With a the new CEO in place, it's changed it's policies to utilized only the driftiest wood, that has drifted for at least 1 season.

Many are concerned that if Home Woods keeps expanding, the city will not be able to keep up the the newcomers. A council meeting is arranged for Monday to discuss the matter, but several of the councilmen have been urged to recuse themselves as they have driftwood art displayed in their own homes.

Now that the holiday is over, crowds gather to get good spot for July 4th, 2020.

As of this Sunday, people are already starting to take claim to precious spots of grass by Mobile Bay for the next fourth of July celebration in 2020. Grassy spots by the beach are highly coveted and now require staking out nearly a year in advance. People are starting to panic about not getting a spot with the ever growing population, and they don't want to risk having another person between them and the bay. It's only three days after the spectacular event and some people are just now arriving home still caught up in the after event traffic, which leaves those people out from getting a great area for next year.

The folks who are camped out by the American Legion right now are loaded up with all the essentials to help them survive until next July. One resident showed us bags loaded up with King Cakes, melted Blue Bell, and a whole Thanksgiving Turkey. Some question how these people will survive in this record breaking heat wave. After asking some of the campers we found that they were sleeping at night inside Yeti coolers and that seemed to do the trick.

Buc-ee's now offering church services for 15 denominations

Popular gas station chain Buc-ee's is expected to become even more beloved in it's new Alabama home after opening it's first prototype church/gas station combo in Loxley, Alabama. Like everything the company does, it's going all out, opening 15 different services covering the largest denominations in the south. This isn't your typical Sunday service though, be on the lookout for great perks, like communion featuring Beaver Nuggets and house made wine. The church services are offered to everyone, with the only exception being Truckers who still can't utilize Buc-ee's offerings. Buc-ee's main competitor, Oasis service station, is hoping to jump on the bandwagon as well offering one "Snake Handling" service for the West Florida residents.
