The burglarizing of unlocked cars in Baldwin County has been rampant for the last several years. Locals have been encouraged by law enforcement officials to keep valuables out of site or out of their cars completely. That said, sometimes their is very little you can do. On the other side, the South Alabama Car Burglar’s Union has issues statements encouraging would be victims to sanitize their car door handles and valuables, especially guns, so that we can work to “flatten the curve”. The robbers are already using medical grade gloves, but we are unsure of the effectiveness at this point.
