For the first time in over a century, New Orleans can be seen from the Fairhope Pier without hindrance from the usual smog levels. Although the skyline could be seen for the last several weeks, no one noticed due to lack of foot traffic on Fairhope Pier at dusk. One local even claims he can smell bourbon street from his home on Fels avenue, but this has not been verified. If life continues like it has been, some scientists even believe the native Maine Lobster will return to his natural habitat in Mobile Bay, an exciting thought for next Jubilee.

ReplyDeleteHow do ya think Jackson knew there was trouble in NOLA in 1812? Pony Express? Nope, he first caught wind of it through a spyglass atop Jackson's Oak otw back from defeating the Spanish @ P'cola! That's why he returned to Mobile, to catch a closer look from the Battle House rooftop!!
